Habits of the Heart and Mind

Habits of the Heart and Mind are embraced and embedded into the culture at AMA. Each month we focus on one habit to develop a mindset and practice of these important skills. Our Habits are service to the community, convention, perseverance, reflection, perspective, ethical behavior, collaboration, and connection. AMA is a bully-free zone.

APPLY FOR YOUR LUNCH APPLICATIONS EVEN IF YOU DON’T QUALIFY

https://www.applyforlunch.com/Home/PickDistrict

Our school is listed as CARSON ACADEMY MED ARTS

This year’s Meal Application is part of LAUSD’s “More than a Meal” campaign.

The campaign is a District-wide effort to promote the completion and submission of Meal Applications.

Completing a Meal Application helps the District provide many of the following resources to students:

  • Healthy and nutritious meals that exceed USDA standards
  • Funding that supports classroom resources
  • Before and after school academic enrichment and recreation programs
  • Fee waivers for college applications and admissions exams (PSAT, SAT and Advanced Placement)
  • Health and wellness services, and so much more!
  • Money to buy instructional supplies
  • Money to buy technology for your students use
  • Money to provide after school tutoring for your student
  • Field Trips for your student

Parents only need to complete one Meal Application. If you have a child/children in different schools, you still only

need to complete and return one application. If you have not already received an application via U.S. mail or from

our school, you can get a Meal Application from the school office or cafeteria.

Meal Applications may also be submitted online at www.myschoolapps.com. Once you submit an application,

you will receive a notice in the mail as to whether your child/children can receive free or reduced-price meals.

EVERY ELIGIBLE FORM COUNTS!

Every eligible form that is not submitted means lost resources for our schools.

Please complete the Meal Application and return it to our school or in the mail as soon as possible. All information

provided is completely confidential and will not be used for any other purpose. Please note the following:

For more information, please call the School Office at (310) 847-1460

AMA Scored U.S. News and World Report Silver for 2nd year

2016 Rankings

Academy of Medical Arts at Carson High is ranked #2340 in the National Rankings and earned a silver medal. Schools are ranked based on their performance on state-required tests and how well they prepare students for college. AMA had stellar results on the 2015 SBAC (Common Core) tests and many students take AP tests. While only nearly 20% of the students passed tests, they gained critical thinking, time management, writing, and college readiness skills.
